Mailing List
We have a mailing list, ucdpong@ucdavis.edu, through which most information about the club is disseminated. If you would like to subscribe, email with your request.
Meeting Locations/Times
Our club meetings for 2007-08 are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-9 pm in the upper north wing of the ARC Pavilion.
How to Join
Feel free to come check out a few meetings first. If you continue coming to meetings on a regular basis, you must then pay dues and sign up on our UC Davis Sport Clubs roster. Just click "Login", "Continue", log in with your Kerberos ID and password, click "My Information", fill in everything it asks for (making sure to select "Table Tennis" as your sport!), and click "Submit". Easy as that!
Equipment Supplied
The ARC provides us with six high-quality Butterfly and Killerspin tables; we provide balls and net sets. Members must either bring their own paddles (highly recommended—information about buying your own paddle can be found here) or check them out from the ARC equipment desk (towards the back of the main ARC building on the lower level near the basketball and volleyball courts).
Our Members
Our membership base encompasses a large spectrum of playing styles as well as skill levels, from the very experienced to complete beginners. We are glad to accommodate anyone with interest, regardless of skill level.
Competition
We offer both competitive and recreational play. Our club is a member of a national league, the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA), which has local meets in both fall and winter quarters. We sponsor both a four-person A team and a six-person B team for each meet. Two years ago (2005-06), we qualified for and participated in the NCTTA Championships, placing 11th nationally; a summary of the event can be found here. We also have internal round robins every so often (announced via the mailing list), from which we derive an internal club rating system/ladder.
