UCD Event Team Home Page

Established in 1986, the Event Team is comprised of approximately 15 riders. Riders must provide their own horse, and be comfortable jumping a course of fences at least 2'3". Boarding is limited at the Equestrian Center so get on the boarding waiting list as soon as you decide to join the team. Riders meet once a week for group riding lessons, and compete at local events such as Rancho Murieta, Ram Tap, CTETA and Eventful Acres. Lessons generally have between 3-5 riders/group and fill a 2 hour time slot. Lesson groups are arranged according to riders/horse skill and experience level. The team usually consists of Beginning Novice through Preliminary levels. The team goes cross country schooling periodically through the school year. Occasionally clinicians such as Brian Sabo, Derek di Grazia, Don Sachey, and Bernie Traurig are invited to give clinics to the team and provide additional instruction and direction.

The Event team hosts two fundraising activities or Combined Tests (dressage and show jumping) at UCD annually. This generates funds for the team to use for appropriate expenditures such as a portion of entries, stabling, and polo shirts. The team is a spirited, hard working group that works well together. We have fun, share common goals and enjoy the camaraderie of being team members.

We meet monthy in unmounted sessions to develop plans, organize calendars, lessons times and other activities. Come check us out.
