My trip to National Collegiate Cycling Track Championships in San Diego began Wednesday morning when I picked up a van from UC Davis Fleet Services and loaded it with bikes, wheels and gear. Garrett, Tyler, and I got everything packed and then tried to connect the trailer to the van, but Garrett noticed that the electrical plug on the van doesn't work with the one for the trailer...joy. No problem, we make a pit stop at a place on 2nd street and the guy makes us an adapter so the lights on the trailer work. We departed Davis around 10:30am—only an hour behind schedule. 2nd place TTT The University of California Cal-Aggie Cycling Team completed defense of its 2006 National Collegiate Cycling Championship by taking second place in overall Division I Team Competition this weekend in Lawrence, Kansas.

Stanford University Cycling, one of 10 teams that UC-Davis defeated at this season's Western Collegiate Cycling Conference Championships, won the overall Team Title, which counts all individual scores for both men and women in the Team Time Trial, Road Race, and Criterium events. Read More...

1-2-3-4 After a three-month cycling season spent trading first place with Stanford almost every weekend, the UC Davis Cal-Aggie Cycling Team edged the Cardinal to win the 2007 Western Collegiate Cycling Conference Team Omnium title by one of the closest margins in Western Conference history.

This overall team title includes individual scoring by Men's A, B, and C riders and Women's A and B riders over the course of a 26-race season.
Collegiate cycling is the only major intercollegiate sport in which scoring from both men and women of all abilities is used to determine an overall team winner. Read More...
